PARKER BOHN III CLAIMS MONMOUTH COUNTY MASTERS TITLE
Parker Bohn III, of Jackson claimed the title at the 49th Monmouth County Bowling Association Masters Tournament at AMF Strathmore Lanes in Aberdeen
Bohn after qualifying tenth with a six-game score of 1230 (Sean Riccardi of Plainsboro, was the leading qualifier with a 1420 which included the tourney's high three game series of 723) then compiled a perfect 5-0 match play record with a tourney high average of 220. In the two-game match play finals Parker defeated Brian Bamforth of Lakewood 497-269. He then defeated Gregory Hess Jr of Jackson 422-361, then defeated Dominick DiReda Jr of Hazlet 504-429, and edged Rusty Thomsen (the 2010 Champion) of Morgan 414-410 to gain entry to the champion match.
Rusty Thomsen was seeded into the final match play in the number one spot as last year's Champion. In the match play finals Thomsen defeated Mike Fogarty of Jackson 378-338. He then beat Walter McKnight of Brick 419-377, John Barret of Hazlet 386-369, before losing to Bohn III. In the Loser's Bracket Thomsen advanced to the championship match by defeating DiReda Jr with a 372-332.
In the championship match, Bohn III claimed the title over Thomsen with a 454-410
