YOUTH 4 PERSON BAKER TOURNAMENT
This is a Monmouth County USBC certified tournament. This tournament is open to all bowlers, however, any bowler not sanctioned in Monmouth County will have to pay a one-time sanction fee of $6. To qualify as a youth bowler the entrant must be 17 and under as of August 1, 2024. Walk‐Ins will not be accepted. We strongly suggest that you mail in your entry early to guarantee a spot. All entries must be submitted on an Official Entry Blank.

This is a 4 person Baker Team Tournament. The averages of each team may not exceed 800. Each team will bowl 10 Baker games to determine qualifiers for the Bracket Final (Maximum of 4 Teams). Entries close at midnight on January 10, 2025 (No walk ins will be accepted)

TOURNAMENT RULES AND FORMAT
Eligibility

LANE ASSIGNMENTS
Bowlers must report 30 minutes prior to the start time. Entries will be scheduled in the order received. The Tournament Manager will assign lanes. Teams will decide the order of the bowlers and they may change the order at the conclusion of each game.
This is a handicap tournament
The handicap will be 80% of the difference of the team average vs. a scratch score of 800. All averages will be verified. If any average submitted is found lower than the actual average, the scores may be disqualified. If submitted average is higher, then any prize winnings will be base don submitted average. It is the responsibility of each bowler to verify their average.
AVERAGES
In order of priority:
- Highest Current 2024-25 Winter or High School average for 21 games as of December 31, 2024
- Highest 2023‐2024 Winter League Average, minimum 21 games.
- Highest 2024 Summer League Average, minimum 21 games
- Highest 2022‐ 2023 Winter League Average, minimum 21 games.
- If none of these averages exist, the bowler must come in with an entering average of 220. We will only use a sport converted average if house average does not exist. All bowlers are subject to re‐rating by the tournament director.
FORMAT
Each team consists of 4 youth bowlers. Each team will bowl 10 Baker games across 5 pair of lanes. The team will decide the order of the bowlers at the start of each game and each bowler will bowl a frame in that order until the game is complete. For example: Bowler 1 will bowl the 1st, 5th and 9th frames. The Top 4 teams will advance to the Bracket Finals (based on a minimum of 12 Teams). Each bracket match will be 2 Baker Games. The winner of each match will be decided based on the total of the 2 Baker games. The Top seed will bowl the 4th seed and the 2nd seed will bowl the 3rd seed. The winners of each will then bowl each other for the Championship.

TIE
In the event of a tie, each of the four bowlers will throw one frame and highest total will determine advancement.
BALL SURFACE
There will be no altering of ball surfaces once competition begins, this includes in between rounds.
Dress Code
All bowlers must wear either a collared shirt, dye sublimated bowling shirt or a USBC jersey. Dress shorts, slacks and jeans are acceptable for Male bowlers. Female Bowlers may wear skirts, dress shorts, jeans or slacks.
AWARDS
Youth bowlers making the bracket playoff (maximum of 4) will be paid. All prize money will be returned 100%. Trophies will be awarded to winners at the Annual County Banquet to be held in the summer. Tickets to the banquet will be complimentary for all of our tournament winners and one guest for each winner. All Scholarship money will be sent to the recipient’s SMART account. PREMATURE TERMINATION OF TOURNAMENT
Brought about by war, terrorism, national emergency, or emergency causes relating thereto from fires, strikes, lockouts, labor difficulties or other reasons beyond control of MCBA shall cause the foregoing prize schedules to be prorated in accordance with the number of entrants who have bowled in each of the respective events up to the time of termination.
RULES
