TOURNAMENT RULES AND FORMAT
Eligibility
This is a Monmouth County USBC certified tournament. This tournament is open to all bowlers, however, any bowler not sanctioned in Monmouth County will have to pay a one-time sanction fee of $6. To qualify as a youth bowler the entrant must be 17 and under as of August 1, 2024. Walk‐Ins will not be accepted. We strongly suggest that you mail in your entry early to guarantee a spot. All entries must be submitted on an Official Entry Blank.
LANE ASSIGNMENTS
Bowlers must report 30 minutes prior to the start time. Entries will be scheduled in the order received. Bowlers will compete in the order as submitted on the form. The Tournament Manager will assign lanes
This is a scratch tournament with an optional handicap division.
All averages will be verified. If any average submitted is found lower than the actual average, the scores may be disqualified. If submitted average is higher, then any prize winnings will be based on submitted average. It is the responsibility of each bowler to verify their average.

Optional Handicap Division
The optional handicap division is based on 90% of the difference between highest season average and basic scratch figure. Basic scratch figure shall be: 460 in Doubles; and 230 for Singles. The entry fee for each handicap event shall be $5.
AVERAGES
In order of priority:
- Highest Current 2024-25 Winter average as of May 3, 2025
- Highest 2023‐2024 Winter League Average, minimum 21 games.
- Highest 2024 Summer League Average, minimum 21 games
- Highest 2022‐ 2023 Winter League Average, minimum 21 games.
- If none of these averages exist, the bowler must come in with an entering average of 220. We will only use a sport converted average if house average does not exist. All bowlers are subject to re‐rating by the tournament director.
Events
Bowlers must bowl both Singles and Doubles in their respective divisions. Divisions are based on averages. The All Events (both scratch and handicap) and Handicap Division are optional additional events. Bowlers cannot enter the optional Handicap event unless they bowl scratch for the same event. All Events is the total of your Doubles and Singles scores.
FORMAT
Bowlers will bowl the Doubles Event first. All bowlers will bowl 3 games on the same pair of lanes in the doubles competition. At the completion of 3 games all bowlers will move one pair to the right and bowl 3 additional games of singles competition. Ties: In case of a tie for 1st place in any event: doubles, singles, or All Events it shall be declared “Co-Champions”.
AWARDS
Divisions will be paid based on 1 in 5 ratio. All prize money will be returned 100%. The All Events and Handicap entry fees will be returned 100% in SMART money. SMART money shall be awarded only to those who paid the fee. Trophies will be awarded to winners at the Annual County Banquet to be held in the summer. Tickets to the banquet will be complimentary for all of our tournament winners and one guest for each winner. All Scholarship money will be sent to the recipient’s SMART account. Information about the USBC Smart Program is available at www.bowl.com. Youth bowlers may cash more than once.
PREMATURE TERMINATION OF TOURNAMENT
Brought about by war, terrorism, national emergency, or emergency causes relating thereto from fires, strikes, lockouts, labor difficulties or other reasons beyond control of MCBA shall cause the foregoing prize schedules to be prorated in accordance with the number of entrants who have bowled in each of the respective events up to the time of termination.
RULES
